Basic Barramundi tips

Barramundi is one of australia’s most prized sport fish, the barra lives
in both fresh and salt water.

The adults only breed in saltwater and the
young develop in the estuaries,Barramundi are a tropical fish they can be
caught from rocky ocean headlands, rivers, lagoons, billabongs and land locked lakes
which have been stocked. The best time to chase barra is just after the wet season.

Barramundi will take a large range of lures and live baits, the most common
ways to catch them is to troll shallow and deep bardbody lures along the river banks.
Another good method is to anchor upstream of a snag you want to fish and cast
hardbody and rubbertail lures back at the snag, this method also works well
when live baiting.

Barra are classed as a top table fish but i think
their overrated, only eat the saltwater fish as the freshwater one’s
taste like mud.

TIP: When chasing saltwater barramundi look for rockwalls and schools of bait
for best results.
